A postpartum recovery stay is a short rest (usually about 3 days, and up to 5 after a cesarean in some funds) in a hotel, recovery institution or vacation apartment in the weeks after birth. Most health funds refund 75%–80% of the cost up to a daily ceiling — but only within the supplementary insurance, and subject to your insurance tier and birth number. The benefit is not from National Insurance and is not part of the basic health basket.
