A recommended family itinerary in Haifa — two to three days

If you're coming for a short family break, here's how to fill it without rushing:

Day 1 — city attractions

Morning at the educational zoo, a light lunch, and the afternoon at MadaTech (the science museum). Finish with a pleasant walk along the Louis Promenade and the Bahá'í Gardens at sunset.

Day 2 — sea and nature

A morning on the beach at Bat Galim or Carmel Beach, and an afternoon cable car to Stella Maris with a view over the bay, or a picnic and playground at the Memorial Garden.

Day 3 — a trip out of the city

Haifa is a great base: add a day in old Akko (about 20 minutes) or a trip around the north — Rosh Hanikra, the Galilee streams and the beaches of Achziv.

A rainy day? There are options

MadaTech, malls and a cinema keep the vacation going in winter too — another advantage of an apartment with a spacious living room you can return to mid-day.
